ABOUT

Purpose drives my design work, opening up new possibilities in each project. This field constantly challenges me to see spaces from different perspectives. Transforming ideas into real, functional environments is deeply rewarding. I’m motivated by collaboration, hands-on experience, and ongoing skill development, which add depth and quality to my work.

PORTFOLIO

Encapsulated in the Lapalala Reserve, The Curator House is an eco-conscious design inspired by the biosphere diagram. As the new home of the Lapalala Wilderness School, it marks the central hub of where environmental education will take place. Each room within the building embodies a different natural layer: the lithosphere, atmosphere, and hydrosphere. These rooms are created to immerse the student in their educational experience. Upon entering, students are greeted with a central terrarium which symbolizes the biosphere harmony of each natural layer. The rooftop garden overlooks Lapalala’s Reserve showcasing its vast landscapes. The Curator House blends its architecture and interior design with its surrounding nature, enhancing the student’s connection to the environment.

Nestled within the soaring Cathkin Peak mountain range, Mdedelelo Hotel provides a unique integration of luxury and adventure. Burrowed inside the mountain, the design seamlessly merges with the natural landscape, providing spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding mountain ranges. A riveting ski lift journey from the base to the summit of the mountain is the only access to the hotel, other than by foot. Mdedelelo meaning  “TO EMBED YOURSELF WITHIN” in isiZulu which encapsulates the harmonious coexistence of human innovation and the breathtaking power of nature.

Welcome to Cheers Bar, a Johannesburg nostalgic rooftop bar that brews its own beers on-site. Cheers Bar is inspired by the iconic South African Chappies sweet. Paying homage to the sweet’s 1950s origins this bar creates an uplifted throwback to the days when we would walk to the local street store or tuck shop and buy a Chappies for 10c. The bar area offers views into the brewing process, letting customers watch the craft of each unique beer. Food trucks are styled to evoke the characteristics of the 1950s Johannesburg, serving bar snacks. The bar offers views of the Johannesburg skyline, surrounded by a retro-inspired interior that captures the spirit and colours of the Chappies Sweet.
